Our story
Sets-N-Reps was founded in 2017 by a firefighter who had enough of the “just do it this way” mindset. After more than 25 years in the fire service, we’ve learned that real growth doesn’t come from shortcuts — it comes from doing the work, set by set, rep by rep.
Born out of experience, grit, and a relentless drive to improve, Sets-N-Reps is both a platform and a philosophy: keep grinding, keep learning. We’re not here to feed you fluff or inflate egos. We're here to share the hard-earned lessons, the wins, and the failures that make good firefighters great.
This isn’t just about tactics and training — it’s about thinking deeper. We don’t want to tell you what to think. We want to help you understand why you’re doing it. Because at the end of the day, skills are built through patience, repetition, and the willingness to stay curious and stay humble.
At Sets-N-Reps, we respect the craft and the people behind it. Our mission is simple: build firefighters who think, not just follow. Whether on the fireground or in life, never stop grinding. Never stop learning.
THE MAN BEHIND THE HALLIGAN
Jason Kling is a firefighter paramedic with over 27 years of service, driven by a simple belief — this work isn’t about him, it’s about the people he serves. From day one, his mission has been to protect lives, share knowledge, and inspire others to be the best at this job.
Jason’s fire service journey began unexpectedly, trading in his retail management and music scene days for the chance to volunteer with a local department. Despite his unconventional start — pink hair, body piercings and skater jeans — a fire chief (Dean Hut) took a chance on him. That opportunity set him on the path to becoming a career firefighter and paramedic, serving on multiple departments and specialized response teams.
Today, Jason is recognized for his expertise in tactical decision-making, fireground safety, and practical, results-driven operations. As an instructor, he teaches forcible entry, through-the-lock techniques, respectful entry, ladder operations, search tactics, and victim removal. His greatest reward comes from seeing the “light go on” in a student’s eyes when a concept clicks — knowing that one moment of understanding can one day save a life.
Full-time firefighter and unapologetic fire nerd, Jason continues to learn, teach, and mentor, believing that small improvements made today can create a lasting impact for years to come.
